Turkish municipalities launch diverse social and vocational support programs

Various Turkish municipalities are implementing social welfare and vocational training initiatives across several provinces. In Mersin, the MERCEK Vocational Training Centers have provided free training to 9,000 people since 2022, offering courses in fields such as gastronomy, IT, and metalworking to boost employment and economic independence.

In Ankara, the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) operates the Kuşcağız Disabled Local and Mola Evi in Keçiören. These facilities support individuals with special needs aged 14–45 through social activities and courses, while the Mola Evi provides a safe environment for children aged 3–6, allowing their families to attend to daily tasks.

Other regional efforts include: - Isparta: Cybersecurity and technology addiction awareness training for parents. - Kocaeli: Zero waste and climate change seminars for female neighborhood mukhtars. - Bornova: Women's health awareness programs for municipal health personnel. - Kepez: Home renovation and housing support for elderly citizens in need. - Kocaeli (Karamürsel): Transportation and accompaniment services for elderly citizens attending medical appointments.
