Turkey regional news: social welfare, environmental, and community initiatives
Various regional developments and social initiatives are being reported across Turkey. In environmental efforts, the TEMA Foundation is holding its 2026 Field Coordination Meeting at Ilgaz Mountain National Park, bringing together approximately 400 volunteers to discuss future goals for soil, water, and forest conservation.
Social welfare and accessibility initiatives include the implementation of increased Home Care Assistance payments for disabled individuals, with monthly amounts rising from 13,878 TL to 15,775 TL. In Eskişehir, a specialized dental clinic is providing accessible oral health services for people with disabilities, while in Antalya, a local business owner is offering free home care services to bedridden and disabled patients.
Economic and community support programs are also active. Mersin is implementing the ‘Golden Hive Project’ to support small-scale beekeepers and promote biodiversity. In Nevşehir, proposals have been made to support female entrepreneurs through new academies and mentorship centers. Additionally, municipal services continue to provide community engagement through outdoor cinema events in Mersin, coastal concerts in Bursa, and nature trekking in Kocaeli.
