Mersin Metropolitan Municipality hosts play workshops for children

The Mersin Metropolitan Municipality is conducting ‘Play Workshops’ at its Silifke and Huzurkent Child Campuses to support the development of children aged 1 to 4. Managed by the Department of Women and Family Services, these programs are designed to enhance children's social, communicative, and psychomotor skills through play-based learning.

The workshops are held once a week for one hour in six-week cycles. The sessions involve both children and their mothers, aiming to strengthen the mother-child bond while teaching skills such as sharing, group movement, and following instructions. As the programs progress, mothers transition from observers to active participants, receiving guidance from instructors on how to support their children's growth.

Participants and instructors report that the workshops help children overcome initial shyness, improve focus, and develop better social interaction skills in a safe and fun environment.
