Mersin Metropolitan Municipality opens Kırmızı Lacivert City Square

The Mersin Metropolitan Municipality has completed the Kırmızı Lacivert City Square project, replacing the former Kırmızı Lacivert and Special Administration Business Center. The development covers a total area of 3,584 square meters, consisting of 1,680 square meters of walkways and 1,903 square meters of green space.

The project includes the planting of 99 trees, the installation of 21 benches, and 14 concrete and wood seating units. Additionally, renovation work was carried out on the facades of surrounding buildings to improve the aesthetic appearance of the district.

Local merchants and citizens have reported positive impacts on the area, noting that the new green space provides a much-needed breathing room in the dense urban center. The project aims to revitalize social life and increase commercial activity in the bazaar region by providing a functional and aesthetic public space.
