Mersin murder case: Defendant sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment

The Adana Regional Court of Justice 18th Criminal Chamber has issued a ruling regarding the murder of 16-year-old Hiranur Nilgün Aygar in Mersin. The court sentenced the detained defendant, Hüseyin Arda Ş., to aggravated life imprisonment for the crime of “intentional killing of a child or a person unable to defend themselves.”

Two other defendants, Mustafa Z. and Nazmi Ç., were sentenced to four months in prison each for “destroying, hiding, or altering evidence of a crime.” During the hearing, Hüseyin Arda Ş. stated that while he did not pull the trigger, he admitted to being guilty for possessing the firearm used in the incident.

The victim's mother, Gülten Tan, attended the proceedings and requested the maximum possible penalties for the defendants.
