Mersin student with visual impairment earns university placement

Adile Nisa Bakır, a visually impaired student in Mersin, has successfully gained admission to the Psychological Counseling and Guidance Department at Bolu Abant İzzet Baysal University.

Bakır prepared for the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) through free one-on-one educational support provided by the Mersin Metropolitan Municipality's Education and Teaching Support Course Centers. After being unable to find suitable private tutoring due to her visual impairment, she utilized the municipal center in Silifke, where expert instructors provided personalized assistance for all her required courses.

The municipality's program, operating under the principle of educational equality emphasized by Mayor Vahap Seçer, aims to support students from diverse backgrounds and assist families with educational costs.
