Bursa women's entrepreneurship market attracts strong public interest

The Osmangazi Municipality and Bursa Metropolitan Municipality have organized a series of women‑focused market events in Bursa, most notably the Kadın Girişimciler Sokağı and the "Meydan Kadınların" solidarity market held at Üftade Square. Dozens of female producers displayed handmade goods ranging from jewelry and ceramics to textiles and traditional crafts across more than 50 stalls. The events drew large crowds, offering the women direct contact with consumers, boosting family incomes and supporting the creation of their own brands. Municipal officials, including Mayor Erkan Aydın, Deputy Mayor Şahin Biba and Deputy Kevser Öztürk, praised the initiatives, emphasizing their role in strengthening local economy and social solidarity. The markets are scheduled regularly—every third Sunday of the month—and organizers plan to replicate the model in other districts, aiming to increase visibility of women’s production and sustain community‑wide economic participation.
