Mersudin Dautović elected to Montenegro Judicial Council

Mersudin Dautović has been unanimously elected as a member of the Judicial Council of Montenegro from the group of distinguished lawyers. During a session of the Parliament of Montenegro, all 64 attending MPs voted in favor of his appointment.

The election occurred amidst political tension, as members of the DPS and the European Alliance left the Assembly following the vote. Consequently, two other candidates proposed by the Committee for the Political System, Judiciary, and Administration—Darko Hajduković and Klaudija Pejović—were not elected due to an insufficient number of present MPs.

Dautović is a lawyer based in Rožaje with an extensive professional background, including roles at the Basic Court in Rožaje, serving as the Chief Administrator of the Municipality of Rožaje, and acting as a member of the State Election Commission until 2020.
