Mert Hakan Yandaş suspension reduced to 6 months

The TFF Arbitration Board has reduced the suspension period for Fenerbahçe footballer Mert Hakan Yandaş. Following an investigation into betting activities, the Professional Football Disciplinary Board (PFDK) had originally imposed a 12-month deprivation of rights on April 30, 2026.

After an appeal by Fenerbahçe, the Arbitration Board reviewed the case on July 31, 2026, and decided by majority vote to reduce the penalty to 6 months. This follows a period where Yandaş was detained and subsequently released after approximately five months of custody related to the betting investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
