Meru County police investigate fatal stabbing and body discovery

Police in Tigania East, Meru County, are investigating the death of 20-year-old John Mwenda, who was allegedly stabbed during a fight with his elder brother, William Thuranira. Mwenda’s body was discovered in a farm in Lii Village with a visible stab wound to his stomach and additional injuries to his head and arm.

Thuranira reportedly sustained serious injuries during the confrontation and was taken to a hospital by Good Samaritans. Authorities are currently seeking him to assist with the investigation. A blood-stained panga believed to be the weapon was recovered at the scene.

In a separate incident in Igembe South, Meru County, police are investigating the discovery of an unidentified man’s body, believed to be approximately 60 years old, found beside the Maua-Antubochio road. Investigators suspect the individual may have been killed elsewhere before being left at the scene.
