Mery Ruth Ariza announces candidacy for Tumaco Mayor

Mery Ruth Ariza, a fashion designer, business administrator, and civic leader, has announced her intention to run for the Mayoralty of Tumaco in the upcoming regional elections.

Ariza holds a specialization in High Government and has a diverse professional background, including roles as a sales manager for Comcel and Movistar, and over 12 years as an instructor for the National Learning Service (SENA). Her public service experience includes serving as a councilwoman for the Polo Democrático, as well as holding various administrative positions such as Secretary of Agriculture, Fishing, and Economic Development, and Manager of the Tumaco Water Public Services Company.

Local political sectors are reportedly supporting her candidacy, citing her extensive knowledge of the port city's various challenges and issues.
