Mesogeios AE seeks 7th-grade license to expand construction footprint

Mesogeios AE is seeking to obtain a 7th-grade contracting license to expand its presence in the construction market, specifically focusing on water resource projects. This strategic move follows the company's 2025 decision to spin off its recovery and recycling division into a wholly-owned subsidiary, Mesogeios Aqua.

The restructuring aims to allow the parent company to focus on water resource construction while enabling the subsidiary to develop specialized expertise in waste management, biological processing, and electronic waste recycling. Mesogeios Aqua now holds all rights, obligations, and licenses related to these sectors.

Financially, the company reported a 30% increase in turnover from continuing operations, reaching €95.044 million. As of June 30, 2026, the company's backlog of signed and pending contracts exceeded €238 million. Additionally, Mesogeios has signed a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) agreement with Metlen for the management of the Lake Pieria irrigation system in Larissa and Orphanos in Karditsa.
