Mesolonggi hosts book presentation on political correctness

In Mesolonggi, author Spyros Vlachopoulos presented his book, ‘Political Correctness – The Modern Censorship?’, exploring the tension between freedom of expression and social respect. The event featured academic and journalistic perspectives on how language use and political correctness may impact free thought and scientific inquiry.

Gerasimos Siasos, Rector of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, argued that political correctness can lead to intellectual homogeneity and may restrict the free pursuit of knowledge in academic settings. Sotiris Triantafyllou, President of the Panhellenic Federation of Editors' Unions, also addressed the relationship between political correctness and press freedom.
