Balkan region hosts diverse theatre festivals and musical performances

The Balkan region is hosting a series of significant cultural and performing arts events. In Banja Luka, the International Children's Theatre Festival is underway, featuring 14 productions from 11 countries, including Russia, Bulgaria, and Germany. This event coincides with the 70th anniversary of the Children's Theatre of Republika Srpska.

Sarajevo's 66th MESS International Theatre Festival is also active, featuring diverse programs such as the documentary theatre piece ‘Safe Place – Journey to Central Mediterranean’ by the Kepler-452 collective and the contemporary dance performance ‘Deinos’, which explores trauma and resistance. Additionally, the concert ‘Balkan Stories’ brings together composers from across the region to discuss shared history and coexistence through modern music.

Other notable cultural activities include the 5th Balkan Theatre Festival in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria, which gathers creators from five nations, and the National Theatre of Pristina marking its 78th anniversary with the play ‘Ucveljeni’. Musical performances are also widespread, ranging from flamenco guitar concerts in Mostar to major rock shows by Deep Purple in Belgrade and pop concerts by Jala Brat and Buba Corelli in Tuzla.
