Messer invests $40 million to expand gas production in Vietnam

Messer, a global specialist in industrial, medical, and electronic gases, has announced two major expansion projects in Vietnam's Thai Nguyen province. The investment, totaling approximately $40 million (35 million euros), aims to bolster the company's production network in Northern Vietnam to support the region's growing electronics and semiconductor industries.

The first project involves constructing a new air separation plant at the existing Yen Binh site, capable of producing 600 tons of nitrogen, oxygen, and argon daily. The second project will be a new nitrogen liquefaction plant at the Song Cong site with a capacity of 300 tons per day.

These expansions will increase Messer's total production capacity in Northern Vietnam to 2,000 tons per day. The nitrogen liquefaction plant is expected to begin operations in mid-2027, followed by the air separation plant by the end of 2027.
