Messi Cup to feature Palmeiras and Flamengo in youth tournament

The second edition of the Messi Cup, an international youth football tournament conceived by Lionel Messi, will take place in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, from October 25 to November 1. The competition features 16 elite youth academies from around the world, including major European and South American clubs such as Barcelona, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Atlético de Madrid, Inter Milan, Ajax, Benfica, River Plate, and Boca Juniors.

Brazilian clubs Palmeiras and Flamengo have been selected to participate. Palmeiras was invited due to the strength and quality of its youth academy, which has recently achieved success in national and international competitions. Flamengo will send its under-15 squad to provide the young athletes with international experience, competing in a group stage held at the Inter Miami training center.
