Messina and Oristano host sports festivals promoting integration and tourism in Italy

Messina will stage the fourth edition of its cricket tournament on July 19 at the former Mandalari field. Organized by Anolf Messina with Cisl Messina and the Super Lions team, about twenty teams from across Sicily will compete in the Sri‑Lankan sport, an event dedicated to the memory of Wasantha Fernando and framed as a showcase for cultural integration.

Oristano is launching a series of high‑profile sports events to attract visitors and boost the local economy. The schedule includes the Eolo Beach Contest, an International Tennis Federation beach‑tennis tournament (July 30‑August 2), the Eolo Sardinia Water Festival (August 21‑23) – part of the global Beach Culture World Tour – an Open Water Challenge in September featuring the Italian wing‑foil championship final, and the European Paralympic sport‑dance championships for wheelchair athletes in November. Organisers expect participants from around twenty nations, roughly 250 athletes and staff, and plan complementary tours of the area’s cultural and culinary attractions.
