Messina clinches Mike Morra Memorial trophy after penalty shootout

Messina took part in the inaugural Mike Morra Memorial triangular tournament held at the Antonino Cardinale synthetic pitch in Capaci. The competition featured Athletic Club Palermo (Serie D) and Spanish Tercera Federación side Arandina. After a 0‑0 draw with Palermo, Messina faced Arandina in the final match. The game remained level until a penalty shoot‑out, where Arandina prevailed, securing the trophy.

Club vice‑president Morris Pagniello expressed strong confidence in the squad, noting the work of sporting director Maurizio Pellegrino and coach Alfio Torrisi. He highlighted the aim of achieving promotion to Serie D and stressed that the team must fight hard in any division, urging opponents to take notice of Messina’s renewed enthusiasm.
