Messina councilor proposes alternative funding for urban redevelopment

Libero Gioveni, a city councilor and leader of the Fratelli d'Italia group in Messina, is calling for alternative financing solutions to support the Risanamento urban redevelopment project. He emphasized the need to meet legal deadlines for clearing degraded areas of the city.

Gioveni suggested utilizing the Capacity project and project financing as additional tools. He noted that the Capacity project has previously assisted families in areas like Fondo Saccà and Fondo Fucile by providing a one-time contribution covering 75% of apartment costs. He also advocated for project financing, an option available through Arisme, to encourage private investment in local infrastructure and housing.
