Messina defeats Gymnica Scordia in Coppa Italia Eccellenza quarter-final first leg

Messina secured a 1-0 victory against Gymnica Scordia in the first leg of the Coppa Italia Eccellenza Sicilia quarter-finals at the “Franco Scoglio” stadium. The decisive goal was scored by Sartore, who converted a header in the second half following an assist from Passiatore.

Following a recent draw against Leonzio that impacted their league standing, Messina coach Alfio Torrisi implemented significant rotation, utilizing eight changes to the starting lineup. Despite a low-tempo first half where Bonanno and Varela missed opportunities, the team managed to secure their fifth consecutive victory in the competition.
