Messina football club initiates reconstruction plan and youth pipeline under new management

The Sicilian club Messina has begun a comprehensive rebuild. Director of sport Maurizio Pellegrino, backed by technical staff including Alfio Torrisi, will oversee player signings and staff appointments, with former midfielder Francesco Giunta returning to the squad. In parallel, Domenico Chiofalo was appointed director general of the newly‑named Nuova Peloro. Chiofalo said the project aims to turn the club’s strong youth sector into a steady supply for the first‑team, noting recent successes such as the Under‑15 Elite final appearance and the Under‑13 Elite championship.
