Messina hosts Greenroutes info day on maritime decarbonization

The Port System Authority of the Strait, a partner in the European Greenroutes project, held an information day in Messina to discuss strategies for green maritime corridors in the Adrion region. The project, titled ‘Green Corridors for Carbon-Neutral Cruise and Ferry Shipping in the Adrion Region’, is funded by the Interreg IPA Adrion 2021-2027 program.

Hosted at the IIS Verona Trento, the event brought together various stakeholders, including the Coast Guard, maritime agents, the University of Messina, and several shipping companies such as Caronte & Tourist, Blujet, Bluferries, and Meridiano Lines. The initiative aims to establish a shared decarbonization program for the region by utilizing community funding and multi-sector expertise.
