Messina hosts third Biennale dello Stretto to discuss landscape mutation

The third edition of ‘La Biennale dello Stretto’ has concluded in Messina, focusing on the theme of ‘Mutations’ regarding the Mediterranean landscape. Promoted by architects Alfonso Femia, Annalisa Metta, and Salima Naji, the event served as an observatory for rethinking landscape management, moving from emergency-based interventions toward permanent policies for coastal protection and slope consolidation.

A key component of the program was a roundtable discussion titled ‘Cyclone Harry, from catastrophe to opportunity.’ This session addressed climate risk and urban planning in the wake of recent meteorological events, emphasizing the need for better territorial regeneration and student housing strategies.
