Messina: Man wounded in Zafferia shooting ambush

A 31-year-old man, known to law enforcement, was seriously injured in an ambush in the Zafferia village of Messina. The victim, identified by the initials V.B., was riding a bicycle on Via Comunale when at least seven gunshots were fired.

Two of the bullets struck him in the back. He was transported to the Policlinico for emergency surgery. The Carabinieri are currently investigating the incident, reviewing local surveillance footage to determine if the attack was carried out by a single individual or multiple assailants.
