Messina Mayor Basile reviews first 100 days of second term

Messina Mayor Federico Basile has reviewed the first 100 days of his second term, characterizing the period not as a new beginning but as a continuation of his existing administrative path. Following his reelection with nearly 58% of the vote, Basile emphasized the responsibility to maintain momentum and accelerate programmed objectives.

Despite facing a complex period involving various local emergencies, the administration has focused on completing long-standing projects and unblocking stalled issues. Key completed or ongoing works include interventions at the Mazzini school area, the Sant’Orsola Market, and sports facilities such as PalaMerlino and Celeste. Other urban improvements include new spaces in Ponte Schiavo, Ringo, and Rodia, as well as the recovery of the Arco di Cristo Re and ancient city walls. Additionally, the administration has worked on improving accessibility at the Gravitelli and Maregrosso centers and supporting beach establishments affected by Cyclone Harry.
