Messina officials meet new Guardia di Finanza commander and approve inclusion project

Messina Mayor Federico Basile met with Lieutenant Colonel Paolo Zottola, the newly appointed commander of the Guardia di Finanza's Aeronavale Group, following his installation on September 8. The meeting focused on maritime territory control and the strategic importance of the Strait of Messina. Mayor Basile emphasized the importance of institutional cooperation to ensure regional security and vigilance.

Additionally, the Messina municipal executive approved a memorandum of understanding for the ‘IncludiME – Sportello per le pari opportunità’ project. This experimental initiative, a collaboration between the Municipality, Messina Social City, and the ‘La Farina – Basile’ Higher Education Institute, aims to support students with disabilities. Funded by the National Metro Plus and Medium Southern Cities Program 2021–2027, the project focuses on providing personalized inclusion, orientation, and skills development to assist young people in transitioning from school to community life.
