Tuscany students request over 26,000 scholarships and housing spots

Over 26,000 students have applied for the Tuscan Regional Agency for the Right to University Study (DSU) call for the 2026/2027 academic year. The applications seek financial scholarships and university housing for non-resident students.

Requests are distributed across major university hubs, with 11,015 applications in Florence, 9,896 in Pisa, and 5,126 in Siena. Notably, 12,817 applicants have requested both a scholarship and accommodation. International students represent a significant portion of the applicants, with 7,542 students from families residing abroad accounting for approximately 29% of the total.

Regional University and Research Councilor Cristina Manetti stated that these requests confirm the essential role of the right to study in ensuring educational access regardless of economic background. A provisional ranking of beneficiaries is expected to be published on September 30.
