Messina unveils Youth project covering football, futsal and women's soccer

Racing City Group, led by owner Justin Davis, has expanded ACR Messina’s structure with the launch of the Messina Youth sector. The new programme will integrate 11‑a‑side football, futsal and women’s football, applying a Spanish‑inspired methodology that emphasizes ball possession, technique, tactics and pressing. It will operate through partnerships with local schools and clubs, including Real Gescal, and will host open‑day events for under‑15, under‑17 and under‑19 players.

At the same time, the club’s first‑team coaching appointment remains unresolved. Negotiations with former Reggina and Trapani coach Alfio Torrisi have slowed, prompting sporting director Maurizio Pellegrino to explore alternative candidates while the team awaits Covisod’s decision on its Serie D registration and possible promotion.
