Messini Municipality holds inaugural Fishermen's Festival at Agios Andreas, Greece
On Saturday, 25 July, the Municipality of Messini organized the first‑ever Fishermen's Festival on the beach of Agios Andreas Loggas. The evening event featured music, dance and live performances by the local orchestra under Antóni Filóppoulos, as well as grilled sardines prepared by chef Michális Angelópoulos. Participants included the Fishing Association “O Fáros” of Petalidi, the Women’s Society of Petalidi and other community volunteers. Mayor Georgíos Athanasopoulos used the occasion to stress the need for continued support of the fishing sector, describing it as a way of life and cultural heritage for the town.
A second day of festivities took place on Sunday, 26 July, at the beach of Petalidi, marking the fourth consecutive year the municipality celebrates the Fishermen's Festival there. The events were backed by the Peloponnese Region and the Regional Union of Municipalities of Peloponnese.
