Messinia, Greece Schedules Pesticide Spraying for Olive Groves
The Directorate of Agricultural Economy and Veterinary Services of the Regional Unit of Messinia announced pesticide‑spraying programmes for olive orchards on 9 July and 10 July 2026. The first programme will start on 10 July in the local communities of Lyktorafou, Pilalistra, Pylos, Elaiofytou, Mesochori and Dolon, while continuing in Glyfada and Chrysokellaria. The 9 July schedule includes Chrysokellaria as a starting point and continuation in Glyfada, Sperchogei, and Vasilitsios.
Olive growers are instructed to cooperate with the spraying teams, keep fields clear of obstacles and weeds, open any fenced parcels, and stay present to report problems. Spraying will not be performed in parcels containing livestock, which must be removed beforehand. Beekeepers are asked to protect their hives, and bio‑farmers must clearly demarcate their plots. For further information, producers can contact the Messinia office at 2721 366 524 or 2721 366 522 or by email akrassakopoulos@pe‑messinias.gr.
