Messinia, Greece to carry out pesticide spraying in several villages
The Regional Directorate of Agricultural Economy and Veterinary Services of Messinia has scheduled pesticide spraying operations for olive orchards on 6 July 2026 and again on 8 July 2026. The first round will cover the communities of Stavourpigi, Papoulia, Antikalamo and Kampo, while the second will include Stavourpigi, Glyfada, Sperchogeia, Vasilitsio and Yameia.
Farmers are instructed to keep any fenced groves open for access, remove obstacles and weeds, and stay present during the work to ensure correct application. Spraying will not be performed in groves where livestock are present until the animals are removed, and beekeepers must protect their hives. Bio‑crop growers are required to demarcate their olive trees clearly; otherwise, spray contractors bear no liability. For further information, producers may contact the directorate at the phone numbers 2721366524‑2721366522 or via the provided e‑mail address.
