Messolonghi by Locals Festival set for August 28‑30, 2026

The 8th Messolonghi by Locals Festival will take place from Friday 28 August to Sunday 30 August 2026 in the historic town of Messolonghi, Greece. The three‑day program spans the town centre, the lagoon, the Arakynthos mountain and Turla beach, offering workshops, guided walks, nature activities, gastronomy experiences and events for children and adults.

The opening night features singer Vasiliki Michalopoulou and her band, mixing contemporary pop, rock and traditional Greek songs. Saturday hosts a traditional folk celebration with dances and regional music, while Sunday concludes on Turla beach with a DJ set at sunset. A day‑before opening exhibition titled “Faces of Freedom” will be held on 27 August at the Nikolaos Lyras Mansion, showcasing contemporary art related to the theme of freedom.
