Messolonghi to host Stamatis Spanoudakis concert for 200th anniversary

Composer Stamatis Spanoudakis will perform a major concert at the Garden of Heroes in Messolonghi on September 26, 2026. The event is part of the official program commemorating the 200th anniversary of the Siege of Messolonghi, a pivotal moment in the Greek Revolution.

The concert will feature the nationwide premiere of new compositions inspired by the historical and spiritual legacy of the Siege. Under the musical direction of Spanoudakis, the performance will include the Melodoi choir, the Municipal Choir of Messolonghi, and the Hieros Lochos Philharmonic. The event is supported by the Ministry of Culture and will incorporate visual and audiovisual elements to complement the musical presentation.
