Mesut Adlin detained following allegations against Manifest group
Photographer Mesut Adlin was detained and later released following allegations made against the music group Manifest, its manager Tolga Akış, and Akış’s wife, Gizem Kaya. In a video posted to YouTube, Adlin claimed that Manifest members were bound by restrictive 10-year contracts that granted all digital and commercial revenue to management, leaving members with only a 10% share of concert earnings. He also alleged that management interfered in the private lives of group members through mobbing.
Tolga Akış’s legal counsel filed a criminal complaint with the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, characterizing Adlin’s claims as “threats and blackmail” that targeted the personal rights and reputation of his client. Following a search of Adlin's residence, he was taken into custody for questioning before being released.
In a separate incident in Aydın, a woman identified as Derya Ç. is under investigation for murder following a fatal apartment fire on August 16. Authorities suspect she may have poured fuel in the kitchen and locked her husband, Mazlum Çiçek, in the room before starting the fire. Evidence cited includes the discovery of a prepared bag of valuables outside the home and reports that she had purchased gasoline in a canister a day prior to the incident.
