Met Office issues yellow weather warning for Devon
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for much of Devon, predicting strong south to south-westerly winds and heavy rain. The warning is effective from 6pm on Monday, October 26, until 3am on Tuesday, October 27.
Forecasts indicate inland gusts of 45-50 mph, with speeds reaching 60-65 mph along exposed coasts and high ground. These conditions may cause large waves and sea spray, potentially impacting coastal routes and communities.
Disruptions are expected across road, rail, air, and ferry services, with some bus and train journeys potentially facing delays. High-sided vehicles may also encounter difficulties on exposed bridges and routes. Additionally, the Met Office warned of possible power cuts and interruptions to other essential services.
