Meta acquires AI coding startup Conductor

Meta Platforms Inc. has acquired Conductor, an artificial intelligence startup specializing in coding agents. While some reports initially questioned the transaction, Conductor confirmed the acquisition on its website, though the financial terms were not disclosed.

Conductor’s software allows developers to run multiple coding agents simultaneously within isolated copies of a codebase, enabling users to review and merge outputs. The platform supports various agents, including Anthropic’s Claude Code, OpenAI’s Codex, and SpaceX’s Cursor. The company reported having over 100,000 users prior to the deal.

Meta intends to utilize the Conductor team’s product development speed to bolster its next generation of AI coding tools. This move follows recent Meta model releases, such as Muse Spark Open, which focused on coding and long-running agent tasks.
