Meta AI joins ChatGPT and others on Apple CarPlay

Meta AI has become the fourth third-party AI chatbot to support Apple CarPlay, joining ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Grok. This follows Apple’s iOS 26.4 update, which enabled conversational app support on the vehicle interface.

While the Meta AI app is visible within the CarPlay menu for some users, access appears to be in a limited testing phase. Many users report receiving a message stating, “Meta AI experience is not supported yet for your account,” a restriction that does not seem to be bypassed by upgrading to a paid subscription.

This expansion of third-party AI tools arrives ahead of Apple’s own redesigned Siri AI, which is expected to integrate with CarPlay following the release of iOS 27, currently in beta and slated for a wider release in September.
