Meta AI unveils autonomous agent that plans and completes tasks
Meta announced that its Meta AI assistant can now operate as an autonomous agent, capable of planning, acting and completing tasks without continual user prompts. Powered by the Muse Spark 1.1 model, the system can generate shopping mood‑boards, create training schedules, organize events and compile briefings, while allowing real‑time user adjustments. All outputs are saved in a single archive for later editing and sharing. The feature has begun rolling out in a few selected markets on the Meta AI and meta.ai apps, with broader availability across additional countries and platforms such as WhatsApp expected in the coming weeks.
The development marks a shift from a reactive question‑answer tool to a proactive, end‑to‑end task manager, aiming to streamline everyday planning and content creation for Meta’s billions of users.
