Meta and NABTU partner to support skilled trades for AI infrastructure

Meta and North America’s Building Trades Unions (NABTU) have announced a partnership to support skilled trades workers as the demand for AI infrastructure grows. The collaboration aims to expand the pipeline of workers needed to build and maintain the data centers and facilities essential to the AI economy.

Through this partnership, Meta will gain access to NABTU’s extensive network of apprenticeship and training programs. This includes connecting skilled craft professionals—such as HVAC technicians, laborers, and operating engineers—with Meta projects across the United States. The initiative builds upon Meta’s ‘Future Is For Everyone Fund’ and utilizes the America’s Workforce Academy to create career pathways via NABTU’s registered apprenticeship systems.

NABTU represents over 3.2 million skilled professionals across the U.S. and Canada through an alliance of 14 national and international unions. The organization operates more than 1,900 apprenticeship and training facilities and invests over $3 billion annually in education and training.
