Meta brings Threads app to Quest VR headsets

Meta has launched the Threads app for Meta Quest virtual reality headsets, expanding the platform's availability from mobile and desktop to immersive environments. The app allows users to browse feeds, post content, like, reply, and search within VR. This move is part of Meta's strategy to integrate Threads across all its hardware ecosystems, including smart glasses and VR headsets, to increase daily engagement and make Quest devices more useful for social activities beyond gaming.

Additionally, users of Meta Quest headsets can utilize screen casting features to project their VR view onto a television or monitor. This can be achieved through the Meta Quest smartphone app, a web browser on a PC, or via devices like Chromecast and Fire TV Stick. Casting is primarily used to share gameplay, demonstrate VR experiences to others, or facilitate social viewing of 3D and 180/360-degree video content.
