Meta announced its AI‑driven WhatsApp Business Agent at the Business Summit in Mumbai. The tool automates customer interactions on WhatsApp, offering 24/7 support for small businesses and an enterprise‑scale platform that integrates with systems such as Shopify, Zendesk and Shopee.

Early adopters including Swiggy, Madhulika Enterprises and Kaizen Adventours said the agent handled 50‑60 % of repeat queries and boosted conversion rates by 25‑30 %. The rollout also adds business‑search features within WhatsApp. Companies can join a wait‑list to enable the service. Arun Srinivas, Managing Director and Country Head of Meta India, described India as a key market for conversational business.

The launch positions Meta to deepen its role in Indian digital commerce and customer service through AI.
