Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg backs open-access superintelligence and AI services for businesses

Mark Zuckerberg wrote an editorial in the Wall Street Journal urging that future superintelligent AI be open to everyone, arguing that broad access will spur invention, entrepreneurship, medical breakthroughs and learning, while avoiding the concentration of power in a few firms. He contrasted this view with industry warnings that AI will destroy jobs and centralise control.

At Meta’s second‑quarter earnings briefing, Zuckerberg announced that the company will accelerate investments in artificial intelligence to become a leading provider of AI solutions for enterprises. Meta plans to offer AI‑driven agents, APIs, cloud compute and internal productivity tools to large corporations, extending its business beyond advertising and subscription revenues.

The dual strategy highlights Meta’s push to shape AI policy toward openness while simultaneously commercialising AI capabilities for corporate customers.
