Meta CEO Zuckerberg Says AI Agent Progress Slower Than Expected

The restructuring shifted about 7,000 staff into AI‑focused teams and involved a 10 percent workforce reduction, with further layoffs anticipated. Despite these investments and organizational changes, the company acknowledges that agentic AI—software that performs multi‑step tasks rather than just answering queries—has progressed more slowly than industry hype suggested.
