Karol Nawrocki faces scrutiny over summit sponsorship allegations

Reports from Radio Zet and Newsweek have sparked controversy regarding the Polish-American Economic Summit scheduled for September 21 in New York. The reports allege that the Centrum Strategii Rozwojowych foundation offered commercial sponsorship packages that could facilitate access to Polish President Karol Nawrocki.

According to the findings, the packages were tiered: a ‘Platinum’ package priced at $100,000 reportedly offered a one-on-one meeting with the President, a ‘Gold’ package at $50,000 for meetings in small groups, and a ‘Silver’ package at $25,000 for access to a VIP zone. Some American companies reportedly expressed surprise at the suggestion of paying for access to the President.

The Presidential Office and spokesperson Rafał Leśkiewicz have denied the allegations, describing them as ‘insinuations, half-truths, and manipulations.’ They stated that no one paid for entry or participation in the summit and that the President’s patronage is honorary. A presidential advisor, Błażej Poboży, added that the President does not condition participation in meetings on payments. The foundation also issued a statement clarifying that no company ultimately signed for the highest package and that no agreements include guaranteed meetings with the President or his staff.
