Meta expands smart glasses to Turkey and unveils realistic digital avatars
Meta is expanding its smart glasses lineup and enhancing its digital avatar technology. The company announced that its Ray-Ban and Oakley smart glasses models will launch in several new markets, including Turkey, by the end of the year. The expansion includes the Oakley Meta, Ray-Ban Meta, and Ray-Ban Meta Optics models, which feature integrated Meta AI support.
Alongside the hardware expansion, Meta is introducing more realistic holographic avatars powered by the Muse Realtime Avatar model. This technology, integrated into new VR headsets and the Meta Ray-Ban Display, allows users to use digital avatars in video calls on platforms like WhatsApp and Zoom. The system uses a five-minute setup process via the Meta AI app to capture a user's facial expressions, speech patterns, and movements, recreating them with high fidelity during digital interactions.
