Meta introduces algorithmic controls for Threads users
Meta's text-based platform, Threads, has surpassed 500 million monthly active users. To support this growth, the company has introduced a new feature called ‘Your Algo’. This tool allows users to privately indicate specific topics they wish to see more or less frequently in their feeds for set durations of one, three, or seven days.
This move toward algorithmic transparency extends across other platforms. Instagram has introduced individual captions for carousel photos, while LinkedIn has added collaborative posts and a dedicated reporting button for AI-generated content. Currently, the ‘Your Algo’ feature is available in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand.
