Meta launches $1B fund for data center communities
Meta has announced the launch of the ‘Future is for Everyone Fund,’ a $1 billion initiative designed to support communities that host the company’s artificial intelligence infrastructure. The fund will provide direct investments to U.S. locations where Meta operates data centers, focusing on local priorities such as education, first responders, and energy and water infrastructure.
The announcement coincides with a new essay by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg regarding the company’s vision for the development of artificial intelligence. Meta stated that communities hosting AI infrastructure should benefit directly from the investments those facilities generate.
In Alabama, the fund builds upon existing investments in Montgomery and Huntsville, where Meta’s total investment has reached more than $3 billion. In South Carolina, the company is already supporting organizations in Aiken County through grants for robotics, AI education, and conservation. To date, Meta reports having contributed over $75 million to approximately 3,000 community projects globally.
