Meta launches AI assistants for business commerce and developer support

Meta Platforms introduced the Meta Business Agent, an AI‑powered assistant that can hold natural conversations, recommend products, answer support queries and help customers complete purchases. The tool will be available across WhatsApp Business, Instagram Professional, Messenger and Meta Business Suite, supports local languages, brand tone, appointment scheduling, lead qualification and integrates with services such as Shopify, Zendesk and Shopee.

In parallel, Meta rolled out the AI Developer Assistant as the primary front‑door for developer support, replacing the traditional documentation search and ticket queue. Scheduled for full availability by mid‑September 2026, the assistant handles onboarding, product‑issue, and compliance questions, providing contextual, real‑time answers drawn directly from Meta’s developer documentation and API references.
