Meta launches dedicated Meta AI desktop application for Mac

Meta has launched a dedicated desktop application for Mac designed to enhance AI utility for businesses and creators. The application features system-wide dictation capabilities and utilizes the Muse Spark model, allowing the assistant to observe the user's current screen to provide context-aware responses.

As part of an initiative to expand AI tools for enterprise users, the app allows business owners to connect their Facebook and Instagram accounts, Meta advertising campaigns, and Google Workspace accounts—including Gmail, Docs, Sheets, and Slides. This integration enables users to query the AI for insights into business metrics, such as ad performance and audience engagement, as well as public information regarding competitors.

Beyond data analysis, the AI assistant can assist with productivity tasks such as drafting documents, creating presentations, and generating spreadsheets. CEO Mark Zuckerberg noted during the company's second-quarter 2026 earnings call that there is significant opportunity in selling AI agents to businesses for the automation of various professional tasks.
