Meta Launches Global Business Agent AI for Millions of Companies

Meta has begun a worldwide rollout of its Business Agent, an AI assistant that operates on WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram. The tool can answer product queries, schedule appointments, qualify leads and even complete sales, and it integrates with third‑party platforms such as Shopify, Zendesk and Shopee. While the service is free for smaller firms, Meta plans a token‑based pricing model for larger enterprises under its Meta One subscription.

To support the rapid increase in AI demand, Meta signed a partnership with India's Reliance Industries on 18 June, renting a 168‑megawatt AI data centre in Jamnagar, Gujarat. The facility will provide the compute power needed for Meta’s AI models across its messaging apps and will be supplied largely by renewable energy. Weekly interactions with Business Agent have reportedly grown tenfold since the start of the year, reflecting strong adoption by businesses worldwide.
